Treatment For Tired Eyes

Charlene

The eye area is not only the first to show signs of aging, but also to reveal signs of stress and fatigue. It’s especially important to care for the delicate periorbital skin since the eyes “are the windows to the soul” and the first part of the face noticed by someone when greeting another.

It’s no accident that stress and fatigue are first betrayed by dark under-eye shadows and swollen, baggy skin. The anatomy of this facial area is uniquely fragile. Although some people are more genetically prone to dark circles, under eye circles do not discriminate against age, gender or ethnicity. The skin under the eyes is much thinner and more fragile than the rest of the face. As blood vessels are closer to the surface and they are subject to increased free radical damage from the environment. Stress can also increase inflammation, accelerate free radical damage and the glycation of collagen. From these natural effects, the support structures of the eye are less able to lend support over time causing fluid from tiny blood vessels to leak out causing swelling.

If you currently use eye serums or creams, do they give natural support to the biology of the eye area and help to combat the effects of stress and tiredness? Helpful ingredients to look for include vitamin c, collagen building growth factors like copper tripeptide-1, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, circulation boosters and anti-inflammatories. For an iS CLINICAL regimen addressing the above, try the following:

AT HOME EYE TREATMENT

  1. CLEANSING COMPLEX
Place a dime size amount in palm, add cool water, cleanse gently, rinse and pat dry.
  2. C EYE SERUM ADVANCE +
Place 1-2 drops for each eye into palm and use ring finger to lightly dab around periorbital area just above and below the eye, taking care to avoid getting product into eye. The product will migrate into the skin more closely around the eye. Allow to absorb and dry before next step.
  3. HYDRA-INTENSIVE COOLING MASQUE
Apply a thin layer to the area surrounding the eye. There is no need to apply product closer than the periorbital bones directly above and below the eye as the product will migrate more closely to surrounding the eye area. Carefully avoid getting product in or too near the eye area. Do not cover. Leave in place 3 minutes. Gently remove.
  4. YOUTH EYE COMPLEX
Apply small amount approximately the size of a grain of rice to the periorbital area above and below the eyes. The product will migrate in closer to the eye. Avoid getting directly in eye. Wait at least 3 minutes.
  5. EXTREME PROTECT SPF 30
If going outside, apply sunscreen gently for ultimate environmental and free-radical protection.
