What products are recommended following a CO2 laser treatment?

In the immediate healing period, Cleansing Complex and SHEALD Recovery Balm would be the only products recommended following a CO2 laser treatment. It is important to apply the SHEALD Recovery Balm in adequate amounts (layers should be thick, like icing on a cake) and as frequent as every 1-2 hours. There are a few patients who are more comfortable if a thin layer of Aquaphor (or similar) is added on top of the SHEALD Recovery Balm several times a day (usually not necessary for every application); these are the patients whose skin feels extremely tight, dry, or uncomfortable. A few patients prefer to alternate Aquaphor (or similar) with SHEALD Recovery Balm. Note that the decrease in milia noted in our Clinical Study may be different for those adding Aquaphor to their regimen, since, in the study, only Cleansing Complex and SHEALD Recovery Balm were applied. After the skin has re-epithelialized, a serum should be added to the patient’s regimen – Pro-Heal Serum Advance+, Super Serum Advance+, or GeneXC Serum. For any sun exposure, Extreme Protect SPF30 should be added to the regimen, as well. After re-epithelialization occurs, a custom regimen containing more iS Clinical products may be designed.
