Should I try to eliminate all free radicals from my body? Is free radical damage always bad?

Some free radical processes are required for life. The body uses free radicals in biologic reactions involving energy creation within every living cell, inflammation, immunity, healing of wounds, cancer surveillance, and others. Extra free radicals that bounce around inside cells and damage them, or excess free radical damage, should be decreased as much as possible.
