A unique advantage of iS Clinical® products is that every step of the research and development, manufacturing, filling, boxing, and shipping processes are done in our own facilities. This is very unusual in our industry; in fact we are one of the very few cosmeceutical companies that manufacture their own products (most utilize third-party manufacturing). Manufacturing our own formulas enables iS Clinical® to control the purity, performance, and quality of every product we offer. iS Clinical®’s product research and development (R&D) process begins with classifying the desired effects a prospective new formula should have. Identifying new formula properties depends on market demands, finding new scientific discoveries in the primary research community, and analyzing feedback from consumers and existing affiliates of iS Clinical products. After identifying and finalizing the properties of the desired formulation, the ingredient selection process begins, with particular attention given to the chemical properties, potential synergistic effects, and probability of ingredients in the final formula of reaching the site of action within skin cells. Only the most advanced, pure (pharmaceutical-grade when applicable), and efficacious “raw materials” (ingredients) are used. When “benching” of potential formulas begins, several different combinations and processes are evaluated for each formula. All formulas are subjected to state-of-the-art stability, compatibility, and microscopic, and microbial testing. The best formula versions are independently tested and evaluated for performance. Once the formulation has passed required clinical assessments, it is finalized and ready for production. Production and “compounding” are ramped up, using sophisticated expertise. These complicated and technologically sophisticated formulations require many steps. Compounding is performed using large stainless steel, sterilized mixing tanks that are super-heated or chilled, along with a variety of mixers. One to several days, and several sequential processes, are required to manufacture a “perfect batch” of product that is ready for distribution and sale. Fresh product is filled, packaged, and shipped from our own facility.
