Are powdered sunscreens as effective as traditional sunscreens?

Sunscreen effectiveness is measured by the SPF rating in the United States, and by similar ratings in other global areas. As long as the SPF or other rating is sufficient for protection, the sunscreen is effective. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 be used.
